The Yoga by Design Foundation transforms lives through the healing practices of yoga, mindfulness and meditation, empowering underserved individuals and populations to live to their highest potential.

YBDF provides yoga, mindfulness, and meditation practice — at no cost — to a variety of recipients, including persons with cancer, physical and mental disabilities, at-risk youth, homeless young adults, incarcerated young men, and veterans healing from sexual abuse and PTSD, and others.

Please join us in offering these healing practices to those who truly need, but cannot afford to participate in them!

What can you do to help?

  1. YBDF is looking for committed volunteers for our committees -
Programming, Development, and our annual Yogathon Fundraiser.

  2. We are also seeking individuals with leadership skills to serve on our Board of Directors. Explore our recruitment packet for more info!

Current Programs

Calumet Center

Founded with the goal of providing dignity and respect to those that had been institutionalized and forgotten, the Calumet Center, sponsored by Spectrum Human Services, seeks to empower and strengthen individuals, families and communities.

Madison Prep

The Yoga by Design Foundation teams up with the St. Clair Butterfly Foundation to bring the peace and healing powers of yoga to the at-risk students of Madison Prep High School. The YBDF program has supported community growth and an overall supportive environment.

Covenant House

Covenant House Michigan provides hope to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth ages 18-24. YBDF offers a Yoga program to help young people address complex issues with patient resolve.

Yoga means a lot to me. It’s something I can barely put into words. It helps me focus and concentrate on myself. Yoga helps as a coping skill to maintain my anger management and that’s all I could ask for.
