2016 Annual Yogathon!

  • Karma Yoga 3683 West Maple Road Bloomfield Township, MI, 48301

What's better than yoga? All day yoga!

Join us as Yoga by Design Foundation presents Yogathon on September 14th 2014!

We'll begin with a 6:30AM Ashtanga Class taught in the tradition of K. Pattabhi Jois and then we'll finish up 12 hours later with the healing sound therapy of a Gong Immersion. This event will be held at Karma Yoga at 3683 W Maple, at Maple & Lahser Roads in Bloomfield Hills Michigan.

Sounds Ahhh-mazing, right?

Proceeds from the Yogathon go directly to provide low or no cost yoga to underserved populations. These folks need it the most and have the least access to Yoga's healing benefits. Let's do all we can!

A $20 minimum donation per class is appreciated. Money generated at the Yogathon will support veterans, children, the chronically and terminally ill and other populations of Metro Detroit so that they too can experience the healing benefits of Yoga. Karmically it feels GREAT to give and to receive! Join us for this special event where you can truly make a difference in the lives of so many and receive the pure energetic benefit of yoga asana, pranayama and it's teachings.

Participants can register online at eventbrite.com or drop-in (on a space-available basis).

Yoga By Design is the first organization of it's kind in the nation to raise money for the purpose of providing yoga at low or no cost to a variety of recipients, including Metro Detroiters with Downs Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, cancer, physical and mental disabilities, as well as veterans, homeless and children who have suffered abuse and neglect.

"People under stress from poverty, illness and other life circumstances can use yoga for coping, healing and ultimately - empowerment" says Lynn Medow, founder and president of Yoga By Design Foundation. "Yoga guides them back to their strongest most balanced self."

We hope you'll come and share of yourself - and your practice - for this truly unique event!
